I came across this site while looking for info on Cosmo and The Counts. I'm originally from KY and followed this group during most of 65 and 66. They were all and more than indicated in their story. I kind of lost track when I was invited to go on the road with a group called the US Army. Great to see and hear that so many others remember also.

You rocked the Louisville music scene. There will never be another band like this. Thank you for all the wonderful memories. And thanks to Marvin Maxwell who sold me my first guitar.

Hi, I was just searching the internet and found this site. My dad is Eddie Humphries and his music has influenced my whole life, including his time with soul inc. I appreciate everything that contributs to music history. I am now a recording engineer in Miami. If you know my dad it is no suprise. The music i work on may be hard to understand or respect but like soul inc. it all matters. Keep music alive. Carla Humphries

Just listened to the Soul, Inc. episode on Marvin's radio show and viewed the News piece. Ya'll sounded GREAT. I was once lead singer for Soul, Inc.(for 3 mos during the Maxwell, Settles and Bugsby days. It's good to hear you as friends again. I also cut my only "hit" at Sambo. It was "Hey Conductor" and on one Soul Inc album with Wayne. It was "Benn Down So Long (it looks like up to me) I love what you guys are doing to keep Louisville's musical heritage together. Lot's of love to you all. Sonny Flaharty

Soul Inc. was IT, back in the day. I was just a kid when I saw them play outdoors somewhere, and at a product showing at Baldwin Music (or Shacklefords?). Bought my 1st electric right after that show. Wayne influenced alot of local Louisville guys to play guitar!

I was about 16 the first time I saw Soul, Inc. and I thought they were as good of a band as the national acts. Wayne Young and Frank Bugbee were great guitarists and I'll never forget the show the band put on in Winchester, Ky. In 1967. I still have my "I Belong To Nobody" 45 and it is still one of my all-time favorite songs. Thanks for the memories guys!

Just want to say hello to Wayne Young and Tom Jolly. Tom is an old high school friend and I enjoyed working with him when I ran the sound and lights for the Sultans band in the early 80's.
