- Gear Fab's Soul, Inc. Volume one disc kicked off a collaboration between Gear Fab and Groovy Music, Inc. Groovy Music, Inc. is overseen by Marvin Maxwell, former drummer for Soul, Inc. and Elysian Field, and his partner, Ed Amick. The pair secured the rights to "hundreds and hundreds" of masters from Sambo Studios, a Kentucky recording studio where Soul, Inc. was the backing band during the '60s. Future releases in the Louisville Music Series, as it is being referred to, include discs by the Trendells and the Carnations, but Maxwell promises "hundreds of releases of all kinds of music. I'd like to think that all of these bands were garage bands because that's where we all started, but I'd like to think that the quality of the music is all fairly decent because we had a groovy little studio to record in." There will also be a new release by Soul, Inc. entitled, "Soul Inc. 2001: A Spaced Odyssey." The band is currently recording at Maxwell's Mom's Recording Studio -
