Most musicians today have to be more computer programmer than instrumentalist. The Shufflin' Grand Dads, whose members individually have more than 30 years of musical experience, take music back to the basics: true instrumental ability and heartfelt vocals that quicken the heartbeat of musical integrity.
Coming from the Louisville, Kentucky area, the members of the Shufflin' Grand Dads cut their musical teeth on the blues, R & B, country and Southern rock that is still so prominent in their sound today. In part, what makes them so unique is the fact that they have a roster of musical family members that "shuffles" as the situation dictates.

The Shufflin' Grand Dads evolved from a band that started in 1965 , when Marvin Maxwell came to Louisville, Ky. to join a band named Soul, Inc. Maxwell, Wayne Young, and Tom "Cosmo" Cosdon all performed with this band that had the #1 regional record of the year in 1968 with "I Belong To Nobody" and toured with the "Dick Clark Caravan of Stars".

The band started recording again with a song called "Rock & Roll is the Answer" and for the next 10 years recorded the best songs they could find with local and regional writers. They also took the opportunity to involve many of the local performers who were best for a particular song.
Their self-titled CD on Mom's Music Records represents the best of Louisville, Kentucky as "The Shufflin' Grand Dads". It is already being used as dance music in burlesque houses.
